Does this feel a little like a money grab? Sure. Is it still wise and brilliant? Absolutely.

short, sweet, and a great underlying philosophy to adopt.

I think I read this book as a column in the NYT, and saw it bound and published at the library. This would be a perfect and lovely gift to a graduate - it's one of those small tidily-bound books that is a pleasure to hold. There are illustrations on alternate pages - good stuff.

I put this book on my hold list after seeing the author's appearance on either The Daily Show or the Colbert Report. I thought it was going to be a bit content then it was. And while I slightly agree with the word "kind", I think respectful would be a better term. I've traveled from Las Vegas to the Gulf of Mexico during the last couple of weeks and I couldn't be more amazed at how rude people are to each other. I thought I was going to see a lady go ballistic because someone was on an 80 passenger boat before she was. Respect each and CTFD!

Today’s recommendation in Claire Armistead’s literary calendar (https://www.theguardian.com/books/2020/dec/27/feed-your-soul-the-31-day-literary-diet-for-january-2021-culture-books) has been my favourite so far; a short, sharp musing on regret, ambition and accomplishment with the simplest of messages: try to be kinder.
