i found it a little slow and dense at times, but overall a very good and important book.
i’m not very good at history and world politics bc things go through one ear and out the other when i hear about it. but reading about it like this makes it easier for me to understand the chain of events irl better

i wish hassan’s death was treated differently. when i read it i was so disappointed at first, with how it’s handled. it would’ve been a very different story if hassan didn’t die, but i think i was expecting that story up until then.

I personally loved this book. It is definitely not a lighthearted, feel good book. This will very easily bring you to tears. I cried and I don't often cry at books. It was an honest and tragic look at the situation in Afghanistan that brought such an overlooked culture to light.

This book deserves all the hype it gets. One of the best books I’ve read in a long time. Incredibly, heartbreakingly sad, you think you’ve reached rock bottom but it just keeps getting worse, with both the war in Afghanistan and the protagonist’s personal struggles. I have never read something that explores the Afghani perspective of the war as in depth as the Kite Runner does; reading it with the hindsight of 2021 only makes it more sad.

Hosseini’s prose is elegant and beautiful; his method of storytelling captivated me just as much as his lovingly crafted characters: Amir, the conflicted protagonist; Hassan, the devoted and loving servant; Baba, Amir’s indomitable father.

Explores themes of the horrors of war, sexual assault, racism, classism, terrorism in a skilful and meaningful way. Everybody should read this book.

Very informative but I couldn't be immersed to the plot, though I'm satisfied with the twist and turns at the last quarter of the book. The beginning was packed with burdensomeness I even had to stop after only few chapters but after that it became distant to where we should be focusing: The Kite Runner.

There are a lot of parts that seemed unnecessary to me. I wanted Hassan but I'm reading about Amir's wife that he met in America like what. why.
And I hated the main character till the end, it's disappointing.
