Overall another good read from Loreth Anne. A bit explicit in an uncomfortable way at times, and it ended suddenly. What happened to the ranch? The will? I'm hoping the second book gives all the answers but given that the main character is someone completely different, and Loreth has a habit of building up plot lines and not finishing them, I'm not hopeful.

I think this was probably pretty predictable, but I still enjoyed the story. A little bit of suspense, a little bit of romance. Pretty good for a free Kindle book.

I'm not going to write a full review for this one, because I just don't feel like I have enough to say about it to make it worth it. That said, I'll do a quick one!
A Dark Lure is about a woman who was kidnapped and tortured, but managed to escape. She's since moved and changed her name, and now goes by the name of Olivia West. The cop on the trial for Olivia's abductor wasn't always convinced that the right man went to prison, and now that odd things are happening to Olivia again, he shows up to try and figure it out.
Overall, I thought the book had a great premise, but just wasn't executed well for me. I was really engaged in the beginning, but the middle and end just lost me. I was bored through most of it, and found myself wishing I could skip to the end, because I just didn't care what happened. I didn't feel the suspense and tension I crave in thrillers.
Overall, it was just an okay read for me.

This is my second LAW book and I found myself in tears by the end. LAW has a gift for juggling lots of characters who are connected by tragedy. I don't have a favorite book yet, but this one got me in the gut.
Moderate: Alcoholism, Death, Rape, Sexual assault, Kidnapping, Stalking, Suicide attempt
emotional
I enjoyed the book. Very emotional. Survivor guilt is intense, and how it can have someone run from their past. The writing of this story captures it.

Ok so I knew what was going to happen in this one pretty early on. Still good overall! But for an avid mystery reader like me, I like when I have absolutely no clue what’s going to happen in the end.
