cute and sweet story! just like the first book, we follow one members of the Magic Misfits, and this time its' Leila. I loved her character and the way she deals with the thing that happen around her.
things were more predictible than in the first book, but I still enjoyed it a lot.the main twist was so obvious because of the cover, but I was invested that totally ignored it and was a little bit surprized by it
also loved puzzles with morse code and the hidden alphabet. wish i had book in the hands, so I could solve them this way.
definitely going to read with my nephews and hope they would like it as much as i did.

Graphic: Bullying, Abandonment
Love the diversity, the representation and normalization of two dads, that one of the characters is in a wheelchair, that the author teaches magic tricks throughout and that it’s by NPH.
Love that this story focused on Leila. Of course it still included the rest of the Misfits, and there were even some other characters from the first book that made an appearance in this one.
This is a great middle-grade series, and one I plan to introduce to my great-niece.

Once again, the book is cute. It’s cute, okay? I think I’m too old to really suspend disbelief and enjoy it. The storyline is predictable, and I’m pretty sure I know what is going to happen within the rest of the series. But it’s cute and fun and I definitely, absolutely, did not at all, ever in a million years imagine the Benny Hill theme music during the final boss fight. Nope. Not me. Not ever. No way.
