(3.5 Rounded down.) Well, this is a weird one... I enjoyed it but it is a very far fetched story! I had already guessed what the ending would be before getting there but it was entertaining! I really liked the main female character and her colourful use of language. ADORED the last sentence of the book!

Definitely an engaging read - I plowed through this book. However, I found it a pretty weak mystery novel. The set up was exciting, but it quickly devolved into lack-luster reveals and improbable circumstances. The villains got away with far too much, the explanation being “because they are rich.” (The protagonists were also very conveniently rich and famous, and weirdly knew a lot of rich and famous people). Some plot lines were never explained (why did the diver go into the ship?) and characters motivations and actions were poorly explained (so wait... what was the relationship between Gretchen and Violleta? Why was Demy, the trained assassin and gangster, so abysmal at assassination?). In short, a fun read that ultimately didn’t hold together.

Took me a while to get behind the characters and I don’t know if I fully did even by the end. Still an enjoyable read and build up!

This was entertaining, but totally far-fetched, and I wasn't all that fond of the ending.

I'll keep it short, this had way too many plots going on!

It was fine, but ultimately I don't think this book will stay with me.
