I listened to this in audiobook format and highly recommend it. Sedaris always makes me laugh and Calypso didn't disappoint. It is a refreshingly honest account of aging, relationships, and family.
I really love David Sedaris, and I listened to this on audio book which only increased its poignancy. Hearing the difference in the voices that Sedaris did for his dad as his dad aged over the course of the book was HEART BREAKING. I know a lot of the book had been previously published, but it was all new to me, and I really loved how personal he got about his family, especially his sister, mom, and dad. And as always I love the bond between him and his siblings.
And honestly if nothing else the line, "Shove your hand up my ass and jerk off my shit" is worth one billion stars alone.

Good Sedaris is back!
I didn't at all care for Owls, and I couldn't finish his Diary, but Calypso is the same old David Sedaris that I love. He and his family do really put the fun in dysfunctional.
