daddy Dom upgrade

I love an fmc who knows what she wants and goes for it. Her character was wrote so well. Daddy titan is smokin hot, love the contrast in gentle way he treats her vs his literally rock hard appearance. Size difference aplenty with an interesting plot to go along with the spice

Well smack my

When I tell you this was one of my absolute favorite reads of this year!! Omg
Firstly I must admit I was so excited for this book I literally had cute lil shirts made for me and my friend that say ✨gargoyle gals✨ cuz I mean ughhh

As a submissive I have to say this book was a absolute pleasure to read. Turned all my daddy fantasy’s into amazing scenes with a hot as hell gargoyle!! Literally it doesn’t get better!

This story was so much fun! I loved the plot line behind both our main characters. This was so easy to read, and genuinely just gave me like giddy good feelings

I’m so unbelievably excited for the next book and can’t wait to see what else Jillian creates! An absolute must for all my monster loving babes

Listen… listen this book? Probably awoke something in me that maybe should have laid dormant. This was beautifully done, we have a dominate gargoyle WHO USES EVERYTHING AND I DO MEAN EVERYTHING to make sure his girl is good. Gives her all the money and everything she could ever need. I even bought it instead of just having it on kindle unlimited because I know I’m going to go back and reread it one day.

HOWEVER, the only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the female protagonist kind of annoyed me at times. I understand wanting to do everything yourself and having deep seated trust issues… but if you’ve worked for something for ten years and someone is like “hey I just want to ensure what you have is done and doesn’t take longer” feel like maybe a thank you, not a slap to the face. Was titan wrong the way he went about it? yes… however Julianna was also doing the absolute most. We love a man who just wants you to be happy and maybe a little bit too controlling but he’s also 1. A gargoyle 2. Centuries old 3. A daddy dom - wasn’t really expecting any less and this book did delivery in every aspect.

Smut rating though? 5/5 PLEASE I need to know about Rook yesterday

I read this cover to cover last night because, honestly? I had so much fun I couldn't put it down.

Julianna Novak (or Jules) used to be a child star. Growing up in Hollywood her mother would drag her from audition to audition, booking small gigs and commercials until her mother teamed up with an agent who booked Jules more roles - at the expense of her mental health and worked her to the bone. Now she's nearly thirty and hasn't been on the screen in a decade, because she's embroiled in a ten year legal battle to get her mother and former agent to release the money she earned as a child star. Jules' funds are low and she makes what she can as a sugar baby, but when she meets Titan, a tall, statuesque man with more secrets than she knows what to do with, Jules is thrown into the hidden world of the Strange - monsters and creatures that have been here all along if she'd just looked close enough.

I was a little wary to pick this up because, regardless of my ample Daddy issues, it's not really my thing in fiction. HOWEVER - This book is like a combination of Pretty Woman (my FAVORITE MOVIE) and a heist movie slammed into some urban fantasy and I had a BALL with it. Titan is a gargoyle who must recover a stolen artifact important to the Strange (monster) community from some shady dealers in LA. When he sees Julianna, he decides she's her in and things snowball from there. I found the characters super interesting, I could tell Jillian Graves had put a lot of thought into her world and the entire story was sprinkled with hints to different books and what might come later in the series. I really enjoyed the idea of these gargoyle creatures that were essentially immortal bodyguards for magical artifacts for years until there was an uprising.

The conflict with Julianna broke my heart a little. The entire book shows just how much she's given and had people take and take from her. We meet her in a place, financially, where she can't even pay her rent. And because, of course, Titan is a big supernatural creature with no use for the money he's accumulated over the past centuries, he has no problem paying her for breathing next to him. I noticed a lot of people had issues with the midway conflict, but I actually really enjoyed how it made both Julianna and Titan grow as characters. A line was crossed and both of these two are stubborn as hell, but once they came to an agreement it really made them both grow. Julianna softened by the end and Titan in all his beefy, big boi energy realized that sometimes it's okay to let other people do things themselves.

The entire time reading all I kept thinking of was the Adam Driver "good soup" meme because this was good soup for my brain. Entirely ridiculous, smut peppering plot, and moments that made me snort with laughter because of monster/human miscommunication issues. I'll be adding Graves to my list with Nascosta of monster authors I'll be reading everything from. ALSO, I can't wait for the sequel, I was immediately drawn to Rook and Eden's story and I'm so excited to see that it's coming!

Content warnings: emotional/financial abuse from a parent (including when Jules was a kid), gore/violence/blood (a couple graphic scenes, Titan was angry), the title says it but this has ample use of the word "Daddy" (from page five or something, we're into it immediately), sexual content (multiple scenes, I'll call them four pepper 🌶 🌶🌶🌶, prehensile tail), sexual harassment (brief scene, but we have a simp of a gargoyle as the love interest), sex work (Jules is a sugar baby, it's not vilified by the monsters, but is by humans)
