AHHH accidentally deleted my old review of this....

Fated mates, pining hero, strong heroine, spice!

It’s an elf MMC and a witch FMC (who has a secret). MMC has known about his mate almost his whole life, but she was unaware.

Courtship/wooing ensues.

The world building in this was fantastic! It’s a paranormal/fantasy romance with a very unique premise. Was on the edge of my seat the whole time.

And oh my god, the dirty talk + spice. Swoooooon!

Interesting setting and great characters, but desperately needed stronger editing. Soooo much repetition and filler. I had to do a lot of skimming. Also very little plot after the first 25%.

I am thoroughly obsessed with Abigail’s writing - there’s just something about the way she writes and visualizes and world builds that has sucked me in. Theodore and Margot were electric! Their romance was cute and passionate and intense and very swoon worthy.

Abigail introduces you to an entirely new vision of the future and I couldn’t help but chase down every single word and look for clues to tell me even more. She’s quickly joined the shelf of authors I will re-read multiple times just to ensure I haven’t missed a single appearance of another character or an interesting world fact.

Black background with an animated orange and yellow toned explosion gif happening behind the cover. Review 5/5 stars and 4/5 spice. Cover: Consort’s Glory by Abigail Kelly. Claws Before Laws. The New Protectorate Book One. Art deco style edges. Light blue elf with black and sapphire blue hair wearing a formal suit holding a redheaded woman in a low back white dress in a formal dance stance.

After reading Fragile Beings, specifically Weathering, I’ve been looking forward to Consort’s Glory. Kelly is creating such a cool world. I was pumped to read a full length novel set in it. We got so much cool new information on different aspects! I loved the build on the politics, religions, and different folks who live in the New Protectorate.

I loved Margot and Teddy! They were such great characters on their own, so it was exciting to see how they balanced and worked with each other. Also all of the side characters were so much fun. I am excited that we will get to eventually learn more about some of them!

God what a wonderful book! I can't believe this isn't more popular. It's just one of those fantasy romance novels (set in modern times!) that is just perfect in all ways. I burned through this book, just enjoying every second of it!
