This is not the mind if book I usually read - thriller/mystery or whatever. I used to love them, but I started getting nightmares when I read them before bed. So I wasn't sure about this one, but it's more character than gore and I really enjoyed it.

This was my first Will Trent book but certainly not my last. I don't know why I skipped to #5 in my TBR but I did. That didn't take away from the story.
Slaughter definitely knows how to write a thriller! There were some turns of phrases in this book that were......harsh. Slaughter throws in lines and curse words that make you go "really?? was that necessary?" The one that stands out to me is "get the dirt out of your vagina." Uh.....o.k. Haven't heard that one before. And a lot of the c-word.
Still, the story was good (although, I thought the big twist at the end was a little farfetched) and it was fast paced which is exactly what I was looking for.
I'm very interested in reading more of her works. I know there are a lot so I'm happy to add her to my rotation of "treats" - authors that I know will give me a good story.

While the “mystery” at the center of “Fallen” doesn’t really stump or intrigue as other past Slaughter novel has, the driving force behind this book is the wonderful characters. Rich, beautiful contradictions, you cannot help but root for these people. Especially in the case of Sara Linton, Slaughter’s longest suffering and standing protagonist. A highly enjoyable (if slightly predictable) tale, fans of the series are sure to enjoy.
