I love the other books I've read from this series, but I just didn't care about this one, and I thought stove of the main characters were not acting like themselves.

I usually love a Faith-driven story but this one was a little convoluted and dull for me, but probably that’s because I find Sara and the “will-they-won’t-they” of it all incredibly boring. Also sue me— I love Angie, more of her perspective when???? she deserves another chance to tell her side! I support women’s rights but more importantly I support women’s wrongs or whatever the saying is

This was my first Karin Slaughter read and definitely won't be my last. I really enjoyed the book. It kept me totally gripped. I thought the characters were well thought out and fitted their roles perfectly. I enjoyed the suspense, the twists and turns, and the full police drama.

dark mysterious tense

Coming back to Atlanta from the previous book, we see a lot of Faith in this instalment, as well as Amanda and Emily aka the “old-timers”. I love KS giving side characters their spotlight because it adds a lot to the story and I’m more drawn to the cast. Like, we see Amanda more vulnerable this time, showing a different facet of herself. There’s lots of characters involved in this one which was a little hard to keep track, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
