This book had a lot of potential however I was a little annoyed with how dramatic the main character is. Every inconvenience felt like it was life altering and huge when it would be as simple as her friend not agreeing to scheme with her. I enjoyed the summer feel of this book and I enjoyed the simplicity of the story over all. The character arc could have been better but I am happy by the end of the story the main character (L) had changed her tune and decided to help rather than scheme her way through things.

i was so close to DNFing this hot mess but read a few reviews and decided to stick it out. I feel like Eloise’s dad is trying his best but the fact that when she just talks to him however she wants and he is the one that apologizes created her issues with thinking she’ll always be forgiven for the screwed up schemes she comes up with. I couldn’t stand the way she treated him and also Seeley and 90% of this book is her being a brat and I couldn’t take much more and I feel like the author picked a really good place to turn it around but had i not read other reviews I would have stopped reading right before Eloise redeemed herself.

this book might just give me the confidence to write a letter and send someone something?? hopefully i don’t regret my decision.

eh. this was okay??? idk i just wish i felt less annoyed throughout the first 1/3 of the book and that lou realized sooner that she's kinda being terrible to all of her friends. also i didn't really feel anything when the main couple was revealed? but there were a lot of cute moments and the ending with mr. p was so wholesome.
