Bullet Review:

Gahhhhhh! Kirkman, you must actively hate me! Every time I start to like one of the characters - DEAD! STOP IT.

This was another fairly decent entry into the train wreck of the Zombie World to Come. Rick "Marty Stu" Grimes continues to be a thorn in my side (the baddies even talk about how at this point, he's invincible - yay?). Carl "Psychopath In Training" Grimes continues to disturb the hell out of me. Andrea betrays me by moving in with Marty Stu and Psycopath in Training.

And Kirkman AGAIN kills my favorite character! Y U DO THIS TO ME???

But another character dies, and one that I'm A) glad to see die and B) was actually kinda sad about. Of course, it's gruesome, violent, gory, but that's a standard for these comics now.

And thank the maker for that last panel else I would have wanted to STRANGLE Rick Marty Stu Grimes for his near-constant incompetent leadership.

On to Volume 18!

I don't even know with this series anymore. Why do I keep reading? It's so depressing, and gory, and just plain not fun to read. I guess I want to know how everything turns out, but the journey getting there is quite horrible. I don't really like or care about any of the characters. The story seems to just be going on and on and on, with no end in sight. And I really want there to be an end. I've invested my time reading 17 volumes of this, and I want to see it to the end. I just don't know if I can.

I'm going to be honest, this one squicked me COMPLETELY OUT. If you've read this, I'm sure you'll know exactly which scene (and which death) I'm referring too. If you haven't read this one, be warned, it's majorly graphic. And not just because of the violence (though that was pretty horrific and I just... *shudders*), it's the emotional impact of what happened and when it happened and to whom. I seriously had to listen to Broadway showtunes last night so I wouldn't have that image in my head. It was awful. I'm actually scared to start watching the show again now, because I'm afraid they'll show that scene in awful, graphic detail and I don't think I can handle it.

Rick se enfrentará a algo que no se había enfrentado. Temor de seguir luchando.

Rick and his followers learn more about a menacing group in the area the hard way while at the same time everyone is considering the hopefully possibilities offered by the community they recently discovered.

This was not an easy volume to read. At all. I felt totally gut punched and didn't know whether to throw up or cry. I never thought they could top the level of horror they suffered at the prison & Woodbury with the Governor, but here we are. Can't wait for the next volume.
