Born a Crime by Trevor Noah

I thought I was listening to an action novel. I am blown away at the stark difference between the Trevor Noah we see and think we know on TV to his childhood. Trevor’s mom is definitely a woman of strong faith, love and wisdom. I love his truth about language and racism. I really enjoyed this book.

I think this book is honestly just an ode to his mom for doing an amazing job raising him under horrible circumstances. I found it very educational about the South African culture during and after apartheid. I love the story and his mom is a bad ass!

This is a wonderful book. Trevor Noah did an excellent job. When I finished reading this book I held it in my hands, paused, and just breathed.

This was an absolutely incredible book. One of the top 2 I've read in the last several years. I highly recommend it. Noah is an amazing storyteller, and has lived an incredible life. I hope he writes more. I would definitely recommend listening to this one--his narration adds so much.
