Oh, I was in my element when I was reading this book! It is a fast paced thriller that I could not put down. The characters were engrossing and their character development was great to read, even though some were quite unlikeable to times. I loved Erin and her search for the truth. The concept of the whole novel is amazing and so complex (but without being confusing).

Of course, as a thriller it is full of twists, turns and shocking elements but it was so brilliant to read and I will definitely diving into more of Jo Spain's novels. I cannot believe it has taken me this long to read this author.

What can I say, I like Jo Spain.

A huge thanks to Quercus Publishers for my ARC in exchange for an honest review. Oh man, this book was a surprise read! This book tells the story of Erin Kennedy who moves to America from Ireland following a family tragedy. One day she wakes up in the morning to a good breakfast with her husband Danny *think bacon, scrambled eggs, and coffee* before that one knock changes her and her husband’s life. It took seconds for her husband to do something that will forever change Erin’s life. I don’t want to spill some good tea but read it when it comes out because it's actually good and it makes you question if one can ever truly know their partner

A real page turner with very likeable characters. All the ingredients for a good thriller are here, I enjoyed the twists, not all are predictable!

Erin Kennedy is looking forward to another ordinary day when she answers the door to find one of her husband Danny's police colleagues there. She turns to Danny to find out what is happening just in time to see him jump from their fourth-floor apartment. His death starts off a chain reaction of events which will upend Erin's life and lead her to the conclusion that you can never really know another person, even one you are married to.

Wow, this is a jaw dropping absolute belter of a book from Jo Spain. The usual twists and turns are one thing, but just when you think you have it figured out, your preconceptions are blown out of the water by another cracking twist. The main character is sympathetic without being annoying (a failing of many books) and the plot and pace never let up. If you hadn't gathered it by now, I absolutely loved this book and highly recommend it.

Thanks to NetGalley and publishers, Quercus Books, for the opportunity to read an ARC. I am voluntarily giving an honest review.

You can always count on Jo Spain to leave you in a state of bewilderment and her latest book The Perfect Lie is no different. This is a fast paced thriller that is told from multiple point of views in a now and then format. It bubbles with tension and had me questioning every element of the story through out. This is isn't a book to try and guess the ending because honestly your head will hurt if you even begin to start. A cleverly woven plot that I'm still not sure I got to the end of.

Too slow. I did not see a connection between both stories the past and the present one. Honestly I got bored.
