I loved this book from start to finish, it had so many insane moments that made it an incredibly interesting read from start to finish - my only criticism is that I wish the ending was a little more flushed out, but the author literally died so thats not even valid criticism. One part I REALLY enjoyed was the descriptions of Archimboldis writing style, and how it almost replicates the style 2666 was written in.

Though it’s often considered unfinished due to Bolaño’s death, and though it’s so often found on the shelves of people who just want to look like they’re smarter than you, it’s in my opinion one of the greatest novels ever written. Its often absolutely repulsive subject matter definitely means it’s not a book for everyone, but also makes the terror of imperialism and the complicity of ordinary people in terrible violence feel real and close in a way few other books manage.
