As far as short story collections go, this is the mystery collection to have. Each tale stands alone, but they are all linked together by a charm bracelet. It's an interesting concept that I have not since seen in any other story collection. There are 15 different authors, 16 different tales (Karin Slaughter wrote both the first and the last story in the book).

Contributors include authors such as Laura Lippman, Lee Child, Mark Billingham, Peter Robinson, and Kelley Armstrong. Each tale, like these authors, is significantly different but all contain the bracelet in both major and minor roles. It's almost as if they are tracing the life of the bracelet from one unfortunate owner to the next.

Each short tale is packed with suspense, intrigue, mystery, violence, and all the other things that you love in these authors' books. It's also a great way to introduce yourself to new authors whose work you may not be familiar with. Even after 4 years, this book has stuck with me and I still remember the stories.

Short stories that all share a common charm bracelet that brings nothing but bad luck to those that posses it.

Very interesting. I really like short story collection and love when the stories have a connection to one another like this one does.

Short stories all connected by a bracelet with charms. It travels from person to person. Each with it's own crazy twist.
These stories were all written by some of the best story writers. All put together in the same book. How amazing is that.
I'm not usually a short story fan, but this book was fun to read.

All the stories in this anthology had a common theme, and as they were written by different authors, the writing varied from good to great. Not my favourite bunch of stories but happy to have read it.

The quality varied depending on the writer, but I loved the concept. Sixteen different authors contribute a story about a charm bracelet at different periods in time. Some of the authors tied their story in to the story of the writer before them, some didn't. Been a while since I read it, so I can't remember which pieces I liked best. Cool way to put together a book, though.

This review is only for "Plan B" by [a:Kelley Armstrong|7581|Kelley Armstrong|http://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1199068298p2/7581.jpg]. Holy cow, how many twists can one short story have? Many, it turns out. While I prefer the author's supernatural work, I can't ignore the quality of writing in this contemporary thriller/mystery. I did NOT see the second or last twists, which made it all the better. This one wasn't my usual ilk, but I enjoyed it none the less.
