TW:
I enjoyed this book. It's a good series ender, especially since this is the last of the Crenshaw siblings' stories. I did enjoy Max Crenshaw, although I couldn't fully grasp or picture his personality. There were times wherein he seems to be mature, but there were moments when he fell flat.
Lady Helena was pretty okay for a heroine. She was genuine and an inspirational woman. I enjoyed reading her thoughts, though there were quite repetitive especially when she was talking about her projects.
Honestly, I would've loved a bit more romance. This book focused more on the business side of things, as well as social projects. I wanted more scenes with Maxwell and Helena so I can fall in love with them as they fall for each other.
I'm happy that the author chose to go the way that it did with the ending. I was half-expecting a turnaround in Helena's situation, but I'm glad that it didn't end up that way. It was a good choice because it solidified the bigger and deeper point of the book
I love this author's works, and I will definitely continue to read other books that she will put out in the future.

that a marriage can be happy and prosperous even without children, whether that is intentional or accidental, as long as both individuals in the relationship are content with each other.I love this author's works, and I will definitely continue to read other books that she will put out in the future.

I love a widow getting a second chance at happiness! Lady Helena has been such a good friend to the heiresses that I am thrilled to know she’s with Maxwell. Their wonderful chemistry, glances across dinner tables and ballrooms, and meddling in the sisters’ love lives are such a perfect fit and I adore them.
Maxwell came a long way (not that Helena didn’t) and I’m really proud of him. Even in business and in regards to his familial relationships, he’s making good choices all around. This happy ending felt fought for, and I loved that about it.

Helena and Max! I'm a big fan of Max. Honestly of both of them. They had some great moments standing up for each other. I was wishing they had dug into her liking it rough a little more but that's a minor quibble.

This book has been my least favorite in the series so far. I found Lady Helena to be a pretty annoying and unpleasant narrator. Even though I enjoyed her emotional focus on infertility and what it would have been like at this time in society. Also her past trauma. There was also way way too much business discussions in this book - like I learned more about the orphans than about any other character. The spice was spicing however, and in the later chapters Max has some fantastic lines + well written dialogue.
