Ok - light, fluffy, and predictable. Lots of unfinished story lines but I've since discovered it's the first in a series.
I won't bother with the next I dont think.

2.5 - very slow, never a good sign when the plot of the book starts at 75%.
Took me forever to finish. I just didn't like Hanna that much and really didn't like her mother. Non sympathetic characters.

What a well crafted story. Delightfully read in an Irish accent, this accompanied me on a long drive and several walks upon arrival. Interesting well drawn characters inhabit a close knit rural Irish community. Loved it!
A bit of a stretch but a great read. Loved that the community came together around the Library to save itself. A bit deterred at the way a Librarian was originally presented, in a very staunchly, shushing manner. But liked how her story evolved, so did her openness to the community.
I think what I liked most about this book is that it shows the importance of community and standing up for yourself. Hanna is relearning this lesson years later, as she tries to carve out a small space for herself in her hometown, where she returned after a divorce, bringing her daughter with her.
Now that Jazz has grown up, Hanna seeks to escape the eye of her mother, whom she had been staying with while Jazz grew. With it comes a load of adventures not only is trusting someone to do as they said they will, but opening up yourself as well to see that the one place you end up in may be the one place where you are needed most.
