This was the strongest of the Bridgerton novels so far, in my opinion. Michael is the hero who stays mostly unproblematic the longest. Francesca is also more likable than any of her sisters. I do like that Quinn didn't feel the need to diminish Francesca's relationship with and love for John in order to prop up the Francesca and Michael pairing. I also thought the writing was slightly better. The anachronisms were still present and annoying. John's mother is named Janet, a name that was not common until the 20th century, and it threw me out of the story every time I read it. Overall, though, this was enjoyable read.

Better than some of the other Bridgerton male love interests but still a bit cringe at times. I found that the plot was a little dragged out. Overall not a bad, quick read

This is my third favorite, only beat by Hyacinth and Benedict. I didn't know much about her originally since I didn't really feel like she was featured in any of the other books or the show, but once I got to know her I loved her so much. Perfect pacing and just beautiful overall except I hate the miscommunication trope
