Seriously love the Bridgetons. Seeing Franny happy is so nice. She definitely deserves it. Great book.

I love the Bridgerton universe. I really do. But this one just felt like Julia Quinn phoned it in. Something that draws me to Francesca's character, from the other books, is that she is a meek and more reserved appearing character. And then when we get to her book it seems as if she's a very in her family and nosy in Michael's life. It also reminds me of the movie Just Friends where the main female character cannot possibly fathom that her male friend would have feelings for her. She comes off so surprised in the end to find that Michael has feelings for her. Also, the smuttress in me was really hoping for a spicier book since Francesca wasn't a virgin.

I will say I did love Michael's character, although they state he is a rake and almost nothing that he does seems to be very rake-esque when you compare him to the other Bridgerton male characters. It wasn't the ad that they gave him malaria and explored how that impacted people in that time as well as gave him a history with India.

I'm glad I read the book but would I read it again? no. would I recommend it? No.
