I absolutely loved this book. Birdie and Lonan were both absolutely incredible. The plot had me hooked pretty much immediately. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series!

Rarely do I roll my eyes at yet another smut scene, but in this case it was more erotica than romance, especially MMC's POV was just sex oriented. The writing style itself wasn't that bad, and the overall plot was interesting but Lonan was one of the worst MMC's ever. He leaked the news, he threw a tantrum she doesn't want to marry him when she barely admitted they're together, he packed her stuff and left it at the consierge, he took the ex-hookup as a date????? and more! Honestly in the end i was rolling my eyes and hoping for someone better for her. He's just so self obsessed and there was close to none connection presented between them on the page besides sex, sex, sex. The "deep conversations" were just mentioned off page, like how much he's opening about his family, but then couple chapters later she asked him like a basic question she should know. The book had potential and the writing too, but there was just too much unlikeable, inexusable behaviour.
They lost me when he walks in on her having some alone time in HIS CLOSET! Somehow that one pushed my limits and was the desth blow to the book

Okay, while I loved this book it’s a hard one to rate because I was sold on the idea of it being a hockey romance. To be fair, he is a hockey player and there’s a few pages about hockey but mostly it’s about Bridget/ Birdie and her life.
It’s a good read, I picked it up this am and just finished within 8 hrs, it’s transfixing but I wouldn’t personally sell it as hockey romance.
3.5 for sure.
I’m also left wanting and confused over how it ends with the investigation. It’s kind of sprinkled in there but dies off.
All in all, an interesting start.

I kept getting reels about this book and I've been TBRing this book for so long. I regretted it, because this book is so good and I ate the whole thing up and left my plate clean.
It's a normal hockey romance but with a twist of drama. Childhood lovers and amnesia stuff (not really but yknow). It's so many things that's a bit fairy-tale like.
I already said 'This is a great book, I love it' by 18% and I told myself, u might be saying that too fast. But they got me, it's good till the end. Ok I lied, at first I was a bit annoyed about what the FMC did, bc why on earth would u do that? but looking at her trauma and what happened to her, it makes sense now and I'm fine with it. I understand where she's standing.
I also want to say, one of the best character writing ever. What? Yes.
I love how they are so realistic, and Birdie is so flirty and brave, I love her dirty disgusting dumb jokes and it just feels right. It felt real and so ME.
I'd say I'm shocked with the spice, because I'm so used to whatever the other books that I've read deal with spice, but this one. I don't know what and why but it felt different and it's more intimate and real, I think either it's because of the MMC POV, or it's the writing style that makes it so smooth.
Enjoyed the entire thing and I love it. Can't wait to read the rest of the series.

Liked this book overall. Feel like we just drifted over the whole “got kidnapped thing”. MMC was dang annoying - the girl spent her entire life away from her family trapped by someone else. Why are you trying to do the exact same thing?!
