I wanted to like this book a lot more, it had some great bones, but, it just fell a bit flat for me.
The main character was abducted as a child and learned about it when her fake mom died, but she seems to be fine shortly after returning back home to her real family. She seems fully adjusted to her new life but once the love interest wants to be more all of a sudden she has trust issues that pop up and has random insecurities for plot reasons? The mystery of her abduction and the investigation would have been interesting to read about but it's like an E plot of the book and only brought up to move the plot forward. I also hate when characters will push the love interest away because "they deserve better" but like nothing is wrong with them besides they're kind of annoying.
Parts of the book would have been more interesting if they were expanded on instead of just brushed over or used exclusively as a way to push the plot forward.
You can tell this is a debut book, and like I said there are great bones. I plan to read more from the author in hopes of seeing her grow as a writer.

Oh my goodness! What an amazing story with all the feels! What a revelation about Birdie’s past! I love her family and how Lonan is such a big part of it. I love how he loves her…and has for years! The spice was deliciously spicy. So great!!!
This was a great start to the series. I’m looking forward to reading the rest
now don’t get me wrong, i like a bit of spice just as much as the next person but i feel like that was all they did? what happened to hello? how are you? my name is? like there was an interesting plot that was hardly explored
and if i have to see the phrase ‘puck bunny’ again…
