Before We Came

The overall plot had potential but the follow through was not there. The main characters were basic without anything really to help you empathize with them. Considering the MFCs background this is pretty difficult to do. The spice was there, a lot of praise, but that's the only thing the book did right.

DNF 30% the writing is so boring, like it reads like a to do list; today I woke up. And did this. And felt like this. Ugh, even one of the most crazy plot points was made so trivial and dumb. Also who tf is named LONAN?????

Only gave four stars bc I hate the name Birdie.

Birdie’s story of trying to find her family initially really interested me. It really drew me into the book, but I feel like she found her family too fast. It almost felt like her family was too nice too. Lonan’s possessiveness wasn’t fun in a spicy way, it just felt like he was overstepping. Birdie and Lonan could seriously benefit from therapy much earlier on in the book

The character was kidnapped and missing for 24years yet just doesn’t seem to be terribly affected by it after finding her real family.
the romance is too flippant and typical
