Just another teenage drama

I water !y time reading this, I didn't grow as a person nor have fun reading this. Can be entertaining but not for me.

I wasn't sure if it was supposed to be a mystery or a drama...I never completely understood the tie in to the music either. The story itself was good though.

The mystery given by the novel has kept me on going. There is something about it that made me stay. And I am glad that I did. There is this one long line that made me really cry. Perhaps because I, too, has a bestfriend.

Bis jetzt das beste Buch was ich dieses Jahr gelesen hab. Es war Spannend und auf eine besondere art eine Gefühlsachterbahn.

the only thing this book did for me is, i found few of my all time favorite songs in Hayden's playlist.

More like a 3.5

The book was relatively good overall, but I felt like there wasn't TONS of character development. And I was really worried that Astrid was going to be a Manic Pixie Dream Girl; she wasn't, but by the end of the book she totally was. The book was fine, but it wasn't one that really did it for me.

This was a book that I really thought I was going to hate, but I ended up really liking? For a debut novel it was very well done, it had the pacing issues and the general story telling problems I would expect from a "first time" author, but ultimately it reached it's point in a way that made it super enjoyable and only slighty hokey.

Pre-reading thoughts: Hayden is my son's name, so of course that's 1 reason to read it. Also it reminds me of 13 Reasons Why and i loved that book :]

Short Review: I grabbed this because it reminded me of 13 Reasons Why, but it doesn't compare at all. The songs were nice, but they really mainly just chapter titles, i didn't see how they fit in really with what was happening in the story. I feel bad about Hayden's life and i wish it was different, but Sam doesn't seem too bad off afterwards thou, but hey, his shit not mine.

"And ultimate Hayden was the one who'd made the decision. He was the one who'd left us here, trying to figure it out, never able to say we were sorry, to make things right.
