I wanted to love this because the premise sounded fantastic, and I love a theatre kid as a protagonist in a YA book. But this, for me, fell somewhat flat. It deals with a lot of serious issues, but I felt like it didn't deal with any of them with the level of care or detail that I wanted. I did like the characters, especially the protagonist. But the whole way through I felt like there was SOMETHING about this that was keeping me at arm's length. Sigh.

so much potential. it had so much potential. if i could, i would’ve written an essay on the potential it had and how it could have easily been improved, but that isn’t possible where i am right now and i don’t think anyone would read it anyway

I enjoyed this book.  A typical YA novel, but it was nice for them to be high school students.  I felt the last quarter was very rushed compared to the first three quarters.   The pace in the first half is quite slow and to be honest a bit frustrating.   And then suddenly everything is resolved in the final bit.   I would have loved to have much more on Will's storyline.

(4.5 stars) this book could’ve been a 5 star one but Aubrey was really annoying and same for Edie’s Mum. Edie’s mum really needs to chill bc she cannot just have a go at Edie for not doing Romeo and Juliet after all the stuff with Toby so it really just was irrating
