Gus is in a new apartment, a new town, and a new school. He has to share a room with his baby sister and the worst thing is that his new building doesn't allow pets. On the first day of school he comes across a stray cat and immediately falls in love with it. He tries to make a leash for it, but it runs away and Gus goes off to school. He meets up with the cat again and now he knows that he must keep it. But where? He can't have a pet at home and you can't keep pets at school...or can you?
This was okay. I really didn't like the character of Gus. I know he's meant to be forgetful, but how does he completely forget about the cat he cares so much about? I did really like his report at the end, though; it was cute and by far the best part of the book.
