This was a definite page turner with a decent amount of twists and turns. I liked the complex sister relationships and the way Slaughter showed differing reactions to a tragedy throughout a family. I will say that there was some pretty graphic torture scenes that felt a bit gratuitous and made me wonder who the target audience was.

This book was interesting, but I would not in good conscience recommend it to anyone. It is really, violently, hauntingly graphic. Incredibly triggering - and I don’t consider media to be something very triggering usually. At the end of the book, there was a prequel which I liked MUCH better. The actual book itself was well written, but again, so graphic that I don’t think anyone should read it. Sorry Karin
