2 stars. Nothing about this book did anything for me. I didn’t like or care about any of the characters, I didn’t like the story itself, and the writing wasn’t even that strong. It wasn’t even entertaining so I was so incredibly bored the entire time. I wasn’t even interested in the movie that they were making because even that seemed boring as hell. Sam was dull and Tate was annoying and self centered so I found it impossible to get invested in anything they had going on. I feel like I just wasted my day reading this and that annoys me more than anything. I’ve got nothing but time but still, I’m annoyed.
3.5 stars
I really liked the premise of this book, and it was easy to get lost in the settings and the story, but overall I felt it was a bit of a missed opportunity.
The authors took on a hefty load with this plot: a whirlwind romance, a media fiasco that kickstarts a career, a strained father-daughter relationship, and multiple forms of betrayal. And while they managed to develop the romantic angle, the rest of the story was lacking for me.
I know romance is their genre and the main point of this book, but the other sub-plot between the main character and her father was just as interesting, if not more so in some places. I wanted so much more from that storyline, and I think if they could have developed that piece more this book would have been so much better.

My least favorite of Christina Lauren's of the ones I have read. Just kind of slow. I wanted MORE!

I've read a lot of Christina Lauren books, and while this wasn't my favorite of theirs, it was an enjoyable read. I found it a bit predictable in that I guessed the reason behind the 'betrayal' before it was revealed, but I still enjoyed following along the journey of the characters anyway. I also wanted a bit more from the ending. Overall, if you're a fan of this author duo I think you'll enjoy this story, but I wouldn't start with this one if you want to get a true feel for what they can do.

“Twice in a Blue Moon” is a story of Tate and Sam, as they meet in London when they are 18 and 21, respectively. Over the next few weeks they fall in love like only teenagers can, but when Tate tells Sam her biggest secret, and he betrays her, everything changes. Fast forward fourteen years, when they meet up again unexpectedly on a movie set. Cue the tension, misunderstandings, and DRAMA!.
I love the writing style of Christina Lauren’s novels, and in this case it was no different. However, I really didn’t connect with the characters, and the “thing” that usually draws me into these books just wasn’t there this time. I did enjoy the first half of the book, and probably would have loved it more if it continued as a YA novel. For me, when the switch happened and the characters were older, I sort of lost interest. I did appreciate how the ending came full circle (but who wants to lie down in damp grass? I mean really. ANYWAY) Fans of Christina Lauren will probably enjoy this novel, but for me, it sort of fell flat. It was still fairly enjoyable.
I was given an advanced reader's copy via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

4.5 stars rounded up. I laughed out loud multiple times while reading this book and enjoyed the flashback/dual timeframe aspect of the story between these two main characters. It had all the good elements - full on family drama, lost and found love, angst, chemistry, humor, inexplicable betrayal (some that becomes explicable... some does not)... I also enjoyed that part of the book was set in London for an international twist. I'm a big Christina Lauren fan and this one didn't disappoint!
