Gifted authors Christina Lauren craft an emotional, heartfelt love story.

When eighteen year old Tate Jones goes on a two week vacation to London with her very strict grandmother, she never imagined that the unexpected intrusion of two Vermont farmers would be pivotal in her life.

During the day, Sam and his grandfather Luther join the women in their London expedition. During the night, Sam and Tate share their dreams and secrets under the blanket of the stars in their hotel’s garden. He tells her about his suspicion that his grandfather is dying. She shares a secret about her star studded heritage she’s never told anyone else before. They fall deep for one another, until he betrays her.

Tate embraced being the daughter of a world-renowned actor and almost a decade and a half later she’s become a star in her own right. But when Sam unexpectedly reappears in her life she must decide if she’ll willing to forgive him and give the love of her life a second chance.

I loved almost everything about this story. All the characters, main and secondary, are well developed. Yes, from the synopsis I knew there would be heartbreak because of a betrayal, but Sam is a romance hero, he has a good reason and character flaws are what make them relateable. The plot is hooking, the backdrop in London and later on back in the States is fabulously described giving the story an added layer of goodness. The story is well paced, the angst and accompanying second chance feelings were spot on, and then the book ends. Abruptly. It felt as though Tate and Sam’s story deserved a better resolution, the kind of feel good, fairytale happily ever after kind. Don’t misunderstand, the romance was lovely, the story was very enjoyable, and it did have a happy ending. It was just a regular kind of smile ending instead of an ear to ear smile.

Twice in a Blue Moon is a standalone second chance romance by Christina Lauren. It is a heartfelt romantic escape told from the heroine’s point of view, and has a happy ending. No cliffhanger.

There's nothing wrong with this story, but I was looking for something with a bit more humor in it.

Enjoyed but not my favourite by author. Story pretty predictable and I didn't click with the main characters as much as I did with the supporting cast/characters.

I had to force myself to stop because I wanted this story to last longer. Yes, it is insta-lovy but I believe they did have a connection when they first met. And though I wouldn't have forgiven Sam for what he did, I love that Tate did.

I couldn't put this down. I read a bit of it last night and I woke up at 3 a.m. today and couldn't go back to sleep until I had finished this book.
I feel like this is the romance book I've been wanting to read and just didn't know it. The reason why these two couldn't/shouldn't be together is a really complicated one, (I know for sure I would've never forgiven him), and yet I'm glad this is a romance book and there must be a happy ending after all. I will admit though, I wished we had another chapter at the end, resolving Tate's father's latest endevours...
However, and even though this was insta-lovy, I really liked Tate and Sam's interactions. And when the big confrontation moment came and they reconciled... Agh, I was LIVING FOR IT. I felt like I was reading a new version of Ally and Noah's confrontation in the rain, (you know from the book/movie The Notebook).
Thank you both Christina Lauren.

It's fine. I shouldn't have read something that's so old from their catalog because it's painfully worse than the rest of what they have created since. The narrator had a vocal tick that made me almost DNF and sounded like she was being sarcastic any time she was being a male voice.

At the end of the day, it's actually a plot I would have probably loved with A LOT more fleshing out which is why I'm still rating it fairly high.

*3.5 stars.

I really enjoyed this but the pacing and plot line was really odd and VERY anticlimactic. I liked the characters and I bought into the romance but the story itself was written weirdly.
