I read the Paddington books in a chapter book style when I was growing up. I enjoyed them, but couldn't understand his attachment to marmalade. My husband brought this book back (along with a Paddington stuffed bear) for my daughter when he studied in England one summer. It has special meaning in our home.

Going through a Paddington phase with our youngest, and with a recent visit to London and a stop off at Paddington station itself, I couldn't resist picking up a copy of the first book at its gift shop. A delightful and nostalgic read.

Suddenly felt like rereading this. I first read this as a child and enjoyed it a lot back then. Still love it today. Paddington is so sweet and clumsy (he reminded me of Winnie the Pooh a lot), you can't help but love him and his adventures.
