Volcanoes was published on January 18th, 2022. This nonfiction book was written and illustrated by Gail Gibbons. This book details a lot of information about volcanoes. It describes how a volcano erupts, what to do if a volcano erupts near you, the types of volcanoes and how they are formed. There are detailed, colorful diagrams and pictures. I thought the information included was useful although, some pages were overwhelming and hard to read. This book would be suitable for children ages 6 and up. In the classroom, it would be a great book for learning about volcanoes, tectonic plates, or natural disasters. The book is not bad but not exceptional either. Very informational and detailed, almost too much. <Science> <Volacnoes> <Tectonic plates> <informative>
LOVED this book! It has a great breakdown of volcano activity - and is perfect for kids of all ages - (seriously, I may use some of this information in my geography course when I discuss volcanoes). But I loved how the author broke down the material - it's easy to understand, the images give a great visual guide to the text, and there are breakdowns of actual volcanoes that have erupted over history.
