My least favorite of the three HG Wells I have read so far. Remind me in the future how much I hate reading about war battles, okay? Making it between aliens and humans does not help things. On a positive note this book ends with
dead Martians

H.G. Wells' Literary Version of Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of War of the Worlds.

I loved how detailed the book was, it really put me in each scene. It took me longer to read than I expected, but I think it was because the writing was older than I'm used to reading. I also had several busy days that only allowed me to read for 15 or 20 minutes those days.

A classic tale of alien invasion, and (to date) the best I have read. It blows my mind that this work was published in 1898 and is still the golden standard for science fiction today. A true classic and sci fi at its best!

This was an interesting read. Some of the terms I hadn't come across before and I did find it somewhat difficult to envisage some of what was described but it certainly provides food for thought. I could sense an anti-war message early on and the fact it was written before the turn of the 20th century surprised me. Its worth a read if your interested in classic sci-fi stories, definitely.
