At first glance this is not a book I would be interested in. I’ve never been one of those girls obsessed with ballet or Paris, France. The writing was compelling, though, and I was intrigued to keep going the whole time. The first half of the book, the characters are absolutely insufferable. I’m ok with unlikeable characters, but goodness they were annoying! At about the 55% mark, the book takes a sharp turn and gets more serious. The characters start to really grow and realize their flaws while they deal with some heavy, serious stuff.
Overall it was an good read about female friendship (including the ugly sides of it) and was surprisingly feminist.
