Chilling. Much better than the Twilight Zone episode, in my opinion, especially the scene with Dan.

My favorite short story I’ve ever read in school (and I’ve read a lot). It’s full of mystery and once you get what’s truly going on- ugh it’s just so scary but also
the fear comes from the child. I recommend if you like horror or weird fiction!

I love a short story set in an odd setting, this ticks the boxes. Reminds me of the lottery in its portrayal of an odd town, only gradually revealing why it is that way

Wow, very creepy.
I child born in a small town has god like powers. Is this a good thing or a horror story? You’ll just have to read it to find out.
Well that’s probably not true since it was written about 70 years ago and a Twilight Zone episode of the same title is pretty famous.
It’s still a great story and definitely worth reading.

Always loved the Twilight Zone movie segment of this and had no idea it was based on a short story. This is not as goofy and is a little darker. Also nice to have a little more complexity to Anthony’s character and the childish randomness to the way he thinks.

Good short story about a child who has god like powers and is a psychopath.
Moral of the story: Kids are crazy and should never have any power

Great horror story, and the Twilight Zone episode was different enough that I didn’t feel like I already knew what was going on.
