Wow Madeleine is just crazy kick-ass, she always was but now, ha, kick-ass beyond everything. But that is why she is fun to read about, she rushes into a situation, tries to kill somneone (does kill someone) and often end up mortally wounded. She is not stupid, she is just, let's get this S#¤t done!!

And of course after the true evilness! after book 3 I was dying to read this one. Gabriel was killed..killed and I was all wtf?! Not to mention Maddy is preggers and Lucifer could not be happier. But then I like good old Lucifer cos he is so cool and let her deal with all his troubles. But Maddy is trying to come to terms with her loss and she has a lot on her plates. The Agency is pretty tired of her, the fairies is pretty pissed at her and do not forget good old dad who wants to kill her.

There will be lots of fighting and good humour. This series is just so easy to read, it's light, while being dark. I do enjoy it

Even though Maddy has been through hell and lost much she is incredibly strong and level headed most of the time. The Agency is breathing down her neck and the Fae are trying to kill her at every turn. She is pregnant and has lost her husband but she is not alone and with so many behind her she continues to fight against those that are against her.

Maddy is in a lot of emotional pain throughout BLACK LAMENT. She broke down a few times and was depressing at many points. Madeline acted a bit like a child once or twice and killed without remorse at others. She was kind of all over the place but that should be expected after losing the person she loves and then finding out she is pregnant while dodging murder attempts at every turn. BLACK LAMENT is filled with action and danger. Maddy has grown a ton in her fighting skills and she continues to amaze me when she beats down those that should be stronger than her. Beezle continues to be a constant source of entertainment and comic relief, you never know what will come out of his mouth next. I still have no clue what to think of Lucifer. He seems to genuinely care for Madeline but he is Lucifer and his motives are anything but clear. Nathaniel is back and in the thick of the story again. Not really happy that he is once again getting close to her but I will continue to see where that all leads.

So much can happen next and I'm to invested in the story and the characters not to pick up book 5. BLACK CITY is set to release in February of 2013.

(1.5 stars) I did not like it. Feels like this series just keeps getting worst.
It not the writing that I object to it is the plot that is just bad.

Book four in the Black Wings series and still fun.
We got a glimpse of Gabriel which gives me hope that there may yet be a happy ending when this concludes.

I’m not really sure why I enjoy this series so much. I still read urban fantasy but I rarely devour it like I have this series. A good book pulls you in, makes you feel something, and carries you on a fun ride, and this book does that.

I've been waiting for this book to come out on Kindle, and the wait was excruciating! I'm glad I waited though, the book was brilliant. It was good to have Maddie and Beezle back! I love Beezle...

The book carries on just about where it left off. Gabriel is dead and Maddie is pregnant. She's trying to fight her confused feelings about JB and Nathaniel while also struggling to control her grief over her recently dead husband.

Maddie has a knack for gaining enemies. This is a book on revenge and taking no rubbish! Maddies short temper lets her show whose boss to the Angents, the Gregori and Fae alike, and that she'll answer to no one. The difference being, she now has the added strength of the baby to help her.

One subtle aspect of the story that I liked would come under character development. Before, Maddie would probably just blow up or kill the person she disliked. Now, however, she's starting to think more. How can she disable an enemy without killing them? Which is the best way to handle the situation without causing more repercussions? What can I handle? For instance, I was quite surprised when the stumbled across a demon portal on the way home and she decided to close it rather than explore. She's actually starting to understand what the meaning of "priorities" is. I think this is very subtlly portrayed and I think that this will continue in the next book.

I have to admit, this book wasn't a disappointment at all, but I'm still gutted that the next book is already out but I have to wait for it to be out on the Kindle. It's frustrating because I think it's such a good series of books and there's this ever looming question - what about her Grandfather Lucifer? What's his motive? Why does he like her -if he likes her? What's his plan? And I just can't wait to find out. Lucifer is such a sneaky and unexpected character that I just can't figure out and it makes the suspense even more unbearable. This is definitely a series to get your teeth sunk into.

Maddie is a bad ass and never gives up. Even when the odds are against her, she does what she needs to do to protect herself and her friends.

However, these books are so similar that the storyline is getting tiring. I would love to see something new thrown into the mix.
