Quick listen, more like a play. Interesting. Predictable.

Did not enjoy this. Felt rushed and slow at the same time?

This had me hooked! I picked it up because I loved Rachel Brosnahan in the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (who has the perfect voice for this), but I stuck with it because of the intriguing story. Each voice actor did a great job, and having a full cast of characters made the story in my opinion. Even though at times the cast made it confusing about who is who - the voices really helped me because I had an easier time listening to the different voices than remembering different names. Except for Buck Henry, of course, because his name is mentioned so many times. :)

I liked how at the end it showed a bit more about Whitney and explained how she justified doing what she did. I found it very interesting how even though she was completely lying about who she was, she has a point that her anonymity helped these men open up to her about their problems. Even though it felt suffocating to the men once they realized they had spilled their secrets to a stranger.

I understand why they didn't elaborate more because it's a short story format, but something about the end felt off to me. Maybe I just didn't want it to end? Richard's reaction was disappointing, but interestingly enough that was the effect of Whitney creating these personas. They are a costume of illusion to protect herself from being known, but if she had just been herself from the start, the reality wouldn't have seemed like such a bubble-bursting moment. But would she have been able to get secrets from these men if she didn't have a persona? Would she have been confident enough to even attempt it if she wasn't Miranda?
