OMGGGGGG. this book is so dark and emotional and it gives you so much more insight. And Lizzy seems so much more mena but mental lly unstable so I can't wait for her book

sigh* I wanted to love this story SO much. It was easily my most anticipated read of the year because it was about Gibsie and Claire, but it just didn’t live up to the hype in my mind. I loved getting Gibsie’s backstory and being able to understand him better, and his and Johnny’s bromance continued to be top-tier. Watching their friendship grow warmed my heart!
Claire was just too much. Yes, she’s always been naive and silly, but she felt way too one dimensional. I wish we’d gotten to see another side of her that could have added some depth. Gibsie, at least, had character growth.
I’m SO done with Lizzie. I was done with her after her first appearance in the book, and her grudge against Gibsie took up WAY too much page time. Absolutely ruined every scene she was in.
This doesn’t affect my love of the B13 world in the slightest, but I’m pretty sad that my fav couple’s book was so lackluster for me.

Gosh dang these books always get so heavy! I actually enjoyed this one though. Chloe Walsh does a really amazing job at diving into different traumas and educating the reader on them. I listened to a lot of Lizzy McAlpine while reading this series and know her songs will always remind me of the boys of tommen <3
