Full disclosure: I listened to the majority of this book when I was on a rather long roadtrip and I fell asleep 3-4 times (not because the story was not engaging or witty, but because middle schoolers are exhausting and it was the last day of school). There is so much humor in this book and I found myself wishing that I had Patch as my own student as he would be highly entertaining.

I acknowledge that I am not the target audience for this book. This book would definitely appeal to younger readers, maybe teens. I thought the book was cute and I laughed out loud several times. However, the main character was awful. He was so self-absorbed and treated all of his friends (and his mom) badly. I just found it really unbelievable that two boys would be interested in him. He was just terrible and I couldn’t get past it honestly. But if you don’t mind an awful main character, this book is cute and funny and you might like it!
fav book ever its so silly and cute and romantic. did a spit take so hard it landed on page 300. this made me fall in love with reading again

The protagonist is so unlikeable - annoying, self absorbed, etc. I know (or at least I hope) that's the point, but for me it just made such a painful, unenjoyable read. It was still interesting but I just didn't really like any of the characters enough to want to keep reading.
