What a Way to Go

Bella Mackie

3.48 AVERAGE

The premise for this book is brilliant and I love how Bella Mackie writes. She had me grinning in public when listening to the audiobook. I just found it a tad slow and when I had ~50 pages left I felt like there was a lot to cover. But I wasn’t left disappointed!

An entertaining story with its weaknesses.

I liked the premise of this book: the mysterious death of a wealthy man, ungrateful children and speculations about a murder. The overly dramatised narration helped bring the main characters to life.

At times, the story was very funny,  but it lacked momentum in the middle part. The rest of the ensemble seemed unfinished and the ending was lacklustre.
A story and a writer with potential, I will give her next book a chance!
