I had a hard time putting it down.
I thought the general story was fairly original. I did guess the ending accurately but I don’t find it was super obvious from the start. There’s good

Fantastic book, believe the hype if you like an FMC with struggles but persist anyway and an MMC who goes feral for his lady. Taking off half a star just because the ending felt rushed.

HEA no cliffhanger

I liked this book but it wasn’t a favourite for me. Good amount of spice, good world building, good plot but wasn’t obsessed with it and probably won’t read the second book.

This definitely gives exactly what it says it’s going to give. Steamy, romantasy with Devils and necromancers and ghosts and a deadly game of trails modelled after the levels of Hell. I had trouble getting into the story but once the ~romantasy~ of it all picked up, I couldn’t put it down. There were a few storylines I wish could have been explored further—particularly Ophelia’s parents and Blackwell’s past—I think the trails should have been longer sequences, and I wish it could have kept up the eeriness that was so good in the beginning. But, god damn, this was hawt and also fun.
