This is the follow-up to [b:Yes & I Love You|53439441|Yes & I Love You (Say Everything, #1)|Roni Loren|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1593619484l/53439441._SX50_.jpg|83098605], which I read last year. Like other recent romance series, this one doesn't follow the same main characters from book to book. Rather, a side character from one book becomes the main focus of the next book. In this story, we meet Andi, who suffers from anxiety, which was mostly caused by a bad relationship with a man in her past. She's been feeling a lot better these days as she works hard on her career as a horror novelist. And then she meets her new neighbor, Hill. Hill is a former firefighter who had to leave his job after an injury and now he is trying to piece his life back together.

And guess what? the two form a connection and work through their issues together. This was a cute, sweet story with some hot moments. it was a little deeper than some romance stories since it deals with people overcoming mental and physical health issues.

I listened to the audiobook which was a fun listen.

Thank you to NetGalley and Roni Loren for an advanced audio copy in return for my honest review. What If You & Me is available for purchase July 6, 2021!

Andi recently moved into a duplex, shared by a mysterious retired firefighter, Hill Dawson. Both Andi and Hill have dark pasts and emotional struggles they are working through. Though the two are an unexpected pair, they way they balance one another out is nothing short of magic. Will Andi and Hill be able to put aside their past trauma's to make it work or will they lose out on the attraction of a lifetime?

I listened to this story on audiobook - that being said I think for me personally, that made all the difference. If this was a book that I read, I don't think I would have enjoyed it. The story line was a bit predictable and there was a bit too much smut for my liking and because of this there are many more physical books I would prefer to read that I would enjoy more. But because my audiobook catalog is running low at the moment, this did a decent job holding my attention and I finished listening in about two sittings. The beginning of the story did have me hooked, but towards the end it just felt dragged out.

**Please note - It always pains me to leave a less than stellar review as I have the utmost respect and appreciation for authors and the content they create for us.

3.5 ⭐️ Quick read, cute, grump/sunshine, mildly spicy and wraps up in a nice neat Happily Ever After!

Character driven book with rep for depression, anxiety and trauma. Does a good job exploring different ways people are affected and the journey to healing. Definitely not a fluffy read, but a good story nonetheless.

4.5 ; the communication between Andi and Hill was amazing. just simply amazing. I love Andi. Her backstory was definitely not what I was expecting, so it really got me hooked on the book. And obviously I love Hill. ugh he’s the definition of ✨men written by women✨
