Meh. Ok not bad but not great.

I really enjoyed this book.

The relationships between the characters are so complex but relatable. I think anyone who is married will find similarities to their own situation. Navigating in law relationships can be difficult.

I thought this was well done and was glad that Diana wasn't villianized completely. In fact she was so misunderstood but only we the readers get to know much of her backstory and reasoning behind her actions.

Overall a really well written book about family dynamics with a mystery thrown in for good measure.

This felt a little slow to me. I liked it, but it didn’t have as much tension or suspense as I expected from the summary.

Listen, this book started out so strong and had a really good pacing and plot going for it until somewhere in the middle. The plot and characters feel like they had lost the pacing and had no development, but then towards the three fourth of the book things start to catch up to the same pace and interest level, only to fall completely flat with the who-done-it reveal.
I'm sad. I wanted to love this book so much more than I did with that ending.

Suspense was not great, a little predictable as the list of suspects was not a long one.

Solid murder mystery writing, one of the few multiple POV books I’ve enjoyed

For some reason, I found this hard to get into and a bit slow (unlike The Good Sister). Maybe because the characters are not endearing at all. But I liked the multiple POV and bouncing between past and present. So much mystery, but a sayisfying conclusion.
