I think it would have been better if Maggie has died at the end instead of surviving.

What a suspenseful read! This one caught my attention right off the bat with the prologue and it just got better from there. I wouldn’t say that anything really surprised me, but I still had a really good time reading this one. There were some parts that were a little slower in the middle, but it did pick up again and the story tied up nicely at the end.

In this book Maggie Holloway is reunited with her stepmother and she goes to spend a few weeks with her in Newport, Rhode Island. When she arrives, she finds her stepmother murdered.

Read this if you like:
→ Intriguing plot
→ Murder mysteries
→ Short chapters

This was an enjoyable suspenseful read. This book immediately grabbed my attention with the prologue. I really enjoyed the storyline of this book and even though I found it to be a bit predictable it still had a good level of mystery and suspense. I appreciated the many different povs throughout this book and the short chapters made this a very quick and delightful read.

Thank you to Simon Books for sending me a gifted copy.

Classic MHC. Lots of suspects but the killer is the person you least expect, cops essentially let civilians do their jobs for them, yada yada yada. Little slow at times but better than the last one we read. Was annoyed that the MC was incredibly indifferent towards the love interest until the very end, when, of course, he was the one to save her.

Cosy, meandering mystery with an interesting cast of characters. Same vibe as a Murder She Wrote episode. Exactly what I was in the mood for.

I found “Moonlight Becomes You” very entertaining. I would have appreciated faster pacing, however.

Mary Higgins Clark is a secular suspense author. Most of her books are clean other than a sprinkle of language. I definitely plan to read more of her works!
