Beautiful, magical journey. Loved it, got so absorbed. Writing is beautiful and ending is well written.

Circe touches on so many of the experienced women must face in one lifetime. From the lack of safety even the most powerful women encounter to motherhood. It captures so beautifully the curse and gift it is to be a woman. I will say that if you are a Virgo like me and need to look up the exact right pronunciation for every ancient Grecian name and place, you will be reading this book for a long time.

Circe by Madeline Miller is a beautifully written feminist retelling of the Odyssey. Having known little of the myths going into this, I enjoyed how easily accessible this book was.
Though the plot became somewhat repetitive towards the middle, I was still captured by the vivid prose and the interesting complexity of the main character, Circe.

An enjoyable read that I would recommend to anyone looking for an introduction to Greek myth retellings.
