Couldn’t put it down! Awesome narration! Writing style was interesting, FMC in first person and MMC in third.

10/10, cinco estrellas, obra maestra. este libro fue hecho para mí. lo terminé hace media hora y ya lo quiero leer otra vez. <3

Bride by Ali Hazelwood is the Ali's first paranormal romance. This book was a slow in the beginning and took a little for me to get into it. I thought the relationship between Lowe and Misery was sweet. However Lowe's whole "she deserves better" attitude was annoying. This was a cute read but I did not think it was amazing. It was a little lackluster for me. The main plot of the book did not really do it for me, either. I think if you have not read a lot of fated mates books then this book might not be bad. However, I have read many that are way better than this book.

I enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. With the way that it ended, I definitely want to read the sequel. The politics and the overarching mystery were my favourite parts and things got rather interesting when all was revealed at the end.

Some of the paranormal/fantasy elements in this book were confusing, particularly with regards to how intimate relations between the different species works
(I was very confused with regards to the whole "knotting" business...)
. The notion of Vampyres and Weres being born (not created), Vampyres not being immortal and the purple and green blood of Vampyres and Weres respectively contradicts general lore about these mythical beings. This is one of those books where it's best to suspend your disbelief and not overthink things too much in order to enjoy it.

I was skeptical about Bride when I first heard about it. I’ve never been into any of the fantasy genres especially vampire/werewolf fantasy but I’ve also never given any a chance.

I can safely say I am still not into this genre and sub genre. I liked enough of Ali Hazelwood’s previous books that I figured I’d give this a read. I feel I only finished this in order to say I read a full fantasy book in order to give the genre a chance.

I won’t lie, this felt like straight up Wattpad kink and almost, if not all of it, was absolute cringe. I will still read her future stuff but I’ll pass on her future fantasy novels.

Had to remind myself it’s not okay to read while stuck in traffic, no matter how tempting. I thought this was a fun twist on a familiar concept and I didn’t want to put it down. I just wanted it to be longer. I thought some of the side characters could have been fleshed out more and the ending could’ve been a little longer/more impactful feeling, but overall I really loved it.
