At least Ali stays consistent. I remember really liking this book the first time around and was not thrown off by the whole knotting thing like a lot of people were. Listening to it the second time around, I feel like I appreciated different parts of it and appreciated it more overall.

For example, puppy dog hearteyes Lowe Moreland has the AUDACITY to say, "You're not a problem, you are a PRIVILEGE"??!?!?!?! WHAT WHO SAYS THAT EXCUSE ME????!?!?!!?!? How in the BALLS did I miss that the first time around?

Lowe is an absolute cuddlebug who needs a nice long vacation with his wife who he actually loves and who I unfortunately relate to when it comes to feelings. I hope that Ali keeps this up in the sequel Mate or that it at least comes close to the magic this brought when I first read it.

This is not your typical Omegaverse, it's a werewolf x vampire marriage of political alliance omegaverse. Which, honestly is a lot BUT I enjoyed it. Misery makes me sad because she has nobody.....but Lo obviously comes to love her.

I really wanted some more explanations and world building here. I wanted to know more about their alliances and governments. More!!! Also, this is an omegaverse mainstream novel ...with very little explination. I will die on the hill that I feel people may know nothing about omega verse and be Soooooo confused by this. Those who did not read exclusively fanfic for years deserve the explanation and cultural context required to fully enjoy this story.

All that said, I really did enjoy this book, from an 'all vibes' perspective. I read it in one long hike and really enjoyed it. If this becomes a series, I will read them all. L

The audio is FABULOUS. I LOVEDDDDD the little bits from Lo scattered throughout.

Good book, read it fast, entertaining.. but I felt like it was a bit all over the place. The plot was fairly obvious (which is not a criticism), but it kept being thrown out with not very convincing plot twists, according to me. Overall it was a nice read!
