El libro está bien, porque es la historia tal como se vio en el cine. Pero no tienen fondo los personajes, los imaginas perfectamente porque ya los conoces.
This actually added a lot to the movie! It made a lot of the characters’ motives more clear and provided some background insight. Poe’s characterization came across better here than it did in the movie. Script to book worked for him, but script to screen made him appear rash and sexist. So this made me enjoy Poe’s character more. I really adored the writing style. It was very well done.

I listened to the audiobook and the performance by Marc Thompson was great as usual. There are some great “expanded edition” scenes in this book. My only complaint is Delray/Lucasfilm need to update their music agreement to include films from the Disney era. This movie has a phenomenal John Williams soundtrack and the audio performance should have the same!
I should first add that I loved The Last Jedi. The Rey/Luke/Kylo/Snoke storylines are some of my favourites in Star Wars and I repeatedly watched a bootleg copy of the throne room scene waiting for the blu-ray to come out. I think this is the first time I've read a novelisation of a movie, so it required a little adjustment for me. It was strange seeing dialogue that was different in the movie, or scenes that played out in different orders. However it was amazing getting to see characters' motivations and their thoughts. It was also such a fast paced story, it felt so much shorter than the movie even though there were extra scenes included. I'm not a Reylo fan, but their interactions in the movie and book leave me so intrigued.
Sadly, a few things that worked really well in cinematic form didn't translate quite so well. None of the clues from the climactic Luke/Kylo fight made it into the novel (which I can definitely understand, it would have made it so obvious), and the jump cuts were getting on my nerves in the final act. Overall, I would recommend it to anyone who liked The Last Jedi. It's a great novelisation and I can't wait for Episode IX!

I really enjoyed this adaptation. I also loved the movie itself. Fry did a great job and the additional scenes were good. Almost teared up towards the end. Star Wars audiobooks always have excellent production values, so that did enhance the experience as well.
The Last Jedi was very controversial when it first came out in the cinema, however, I loved it. This novelisation makes the story even better. It allowed internal thought by the characters which brought a greater understanding in what had happened. You got a better view & understanding of how Rose fell in love with Finn & how Poe grew from a pilot into one of the only leaders the Resistance has left. While many see the Canto Bight & Vice Admiral Holdo, as the worse parts of the Last Jedi. I do not & would spend too long in saying why, so I will just say that if you don't like that, this novelisation isn't going to change your mind.
I watched the movie the Last Jedi and was very disappointed in the plot holes, bad worldbuilding, and poor storytelling in a lot of the scenes. I read the book hoping it would explain some of the things I didn't understand and help me feel better about the movie. Frankly, it didn't. The parts of the movie I liked were pretty much the same, the parts I hated make just as little sense as they did to start with. I won't go into a whole diatribe here because I could fill pages and it isn't worth it, but this is still my least favorite Star Wars movie, and the book suffers from the same flaws. If I was just reading this as a science fiction book that I picked up off the shelf, I would be blasting it as a terrible sci-fi book that has huge plot issues and makes very little sense. It has a couple of redeeming virtues, but not nearly enough to rescue the terrible parts.
