This is just a nice addition to the series, I could have done without it but, I love it. Here we just get to understand a bit more about the relationship between Dimple and Rishi. Rishi, as we know, is very traditional and as you can expect he is already thinking of marriage and our girl Dimple isn't having that because she believes that marriage just brings the government into their relationship which to some extent is true but if you love each other why should the thought of marriage be a bother.
Anyways she reflects upon herself and decides that she might want to marry him someday.

This little companion to Sandhya Menon’s When Dimple Met Rishi is the two C’s that I needed right now - cheesy and cute! Now when I say cheesy, I mean it in the good way. The ‘smile like a weirdo at your computer screen’ way. The ‘ohmygod you love each other, stop hurting yourselves’ way.
This short story is adorable and simple and straightforward and has Rishi and Dimple having a conversation I had wondered about at the end of the first novel - on their views on marriage and whether or not it would change - and I was pleased to find that while they were still them, they had obviously grown to be willing to think about things from each other’s points of views and even from their families’ points of views.
I also am now even more excited to see Ashish and Sweetie fall in love because they seem adorable as well!

I wish this could’ve been longer as it felt a little rushed. The instalove theme continued and I almost wish instead of jumping 1 year into the future that it would’ve jumped 5. That would’ve made me understand Dimple’s decisions more and it would’ve felt more real. It was cute and I’m glad I read it.

What a sweet and honest little novella. As someone who is very recently engaged, I really sympathized with all of the apprehension Dimple had about getting married as well as Rishi's drive to unite their love in such a huge, symbolic way. It took me and my partner almost 2 full years from when we decided we were ready to ACTUALLY get engaged. Wedding planning days are still far on the horizon, but it feels so lovely to have taken this step together, especially when we are in so much more of a stable place than two years ago. So this was wonderful and validating and made my heart happy. Thanks Sandhya for this extra treat on top of an already magnificent story world. 💗

It’s been a handful of years since I originally read When Dimple Met Rishi. Reading this quick story reminded me of how much joy I found in that book. I might have to reread it. I know I will definitely be reading more books from Sandhya Menon.

If you read When Dimple Met Rishi and wondered what happened next for the main characters... wonder no more! This sweet short picks up a year later and Rishi and Dimple try to figure out what they want and what's next for their relationship. It's a quick read, and will leave you with all sorts of happy feels.
