Really a terrible book.  Needed 3 more rounds of edits at least, I have no idea how it got the cover quotes it did.  Clearly written for an American audience it flings between narrative non fiction and traditional non fiction randomly, with chapters and pages dedicated to filler content and random baseless predictions about the internal thoughts of people involved.  1.5 purely because there were occasional nuggets I didn't know, and behind all the bullshit there was so an interesting retelling of two parallel operations.  I have read pretty much every book about the IRA out there and this is absolutely bottom of the list.

A brilliantly researched and written exploration of the attempt to kill the PM Margaret Thatcher in 1984 in a Brighton Hotel at the Conservative Party Conference.  A detailed insight into the IRA, "The Troubles", and British politics.
