It's a five-novella series. I'm reviewing the entire series as a whole cuz after completing the first book I just wanted to delve right into the next one immediately. So, I ended up bingeing the entire series in two days.
First off I want to say that the book covers absolutely suck. They're so unhinged and you'd prolly assume that it's just gonna be a whole alot of smut but it's so much more than just that.🫠
This is one twisted & fascinating story. I never thought I’d side with a serial k!ller in a novel. Yup, you heard that right. The heroine is a kickass woman, who also happens to be a serial killer. And the man she falls in love with? He’s an FBI profiler, I mean- COME ON!!😩💘
The book is a perfect combination of a thriller & romance. The twist and turns were just so so so good & unexpected. It's nothing like I've ever read and it had me hooked in a way that I haven't been in a long, long time. I laughed, I cried, I cheered, I was shook.
When things get dark, this book holds nothing back. There're some pretty gruesome scenes. Some heartbreaking, and some that will leave you feeling vindicated for the heroine.
Lana is quite possibly one of my most favorite female characters ever. She's also one hell of a funny main character. I was literally howling while reading her train of self-deprecating thoughts.
Logan on the other hand, is going to set you aflame🔥- Phew! He's very down to earth, def hot asf and overall a very likable character. And Godd! the way he trusts Lana.. Like even when there were some very obvious moments when anyone could tell that Lana was hiding something.. this guy was so in love with her that he didn't doubt her for even a sec- God bless his heart.
Plus the chemistry between Lana & Logan is off the charts!😍 It cracks me up every time they tease each other back and forth like that. And being that both of them has been out of the dating field for a while, there are also some awkward moments that make their interaction even more adorable.
If you have any triggers that involve r@pe or any graphic violence, this is NOT the series for you⚠️

She really delivered on the premise Ngl. Didn’t see the ending coming quite a few times, so many little mysteries + big mysteries that were handled really well throughout.
Bit of spice - some you can skip and others is relevant for character/plot development but it was good!!
Love it would read again + def got me out of my reading slump

The first half of the series was much more tense and mysterious, as the second half was a bit more predictable, but I was still on the edge of my seat the whole time.
The writing did get repetitive and cliche at times, and I naturally skimmed over some of it toward the end.
